One Powerful Drop

Recently I’ve taken an interest in Essential Oils. It all started when my friend gave me this particular oil that could help my sore throat. Within a couple of hours I felt better! That’s when I got hooked and fell in love. The other day as I was experiencing an awful headache, I ran to my collection of oils. I picked up my peppermint oil and put a drop on my finger and rubbed it on my head, within minutes my headache subsided. In that moment a thought popped in my head, taking Essential oils to help a need is like turning to God’s Words. Essentials oils are pure and strong just like God’s Words.  As we turn to our favorite oil to fulfill a need, we should turn to a verse or a passage in the bible.  For instance, when being consumed with feelings of anxiety we turn to our favorite calming oil which helps us, but nothing is as strong and comforting as God’s Words.

With Essential oils one drop is enough because of how strong it is. By one simple drop of His Word, one minute under his presence can change everything and cure whatever you are experiencing. I have to keep reminding myself to go to his Word rather than figure it out on my own.  He is here for us and always will be; seek him, run to his Word which brings healing, peace, joy, and confidence to keep trusting and moving forward.

In the Essential oil world, you say you have a problem and they say, “Well there’s an oil for that”. Well there is a verse for whatever you are going through. Take the time and look to the One’s Words that knows your whole world, the desires of your heart and knows every storm you are going to endure.

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalms 119:105 NLT

In the past couple of months I’ve been uncertain of my future, it weighed heavy on my heart. I turned to my Bible and went to the book of Jeremiah.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Reading the sweet Words of God eased my feeling of uncertainty into peace. I may not know what my future holds, but I know I have a God who holds my future with his precious hands, I shall not be worried.

His Words have power and are written to help us with every season in our lives.

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Hebrews 4:12 NLT

So I encourage you, whatever you may be experiencing in your life, go to His Word, it does wonders.
